Archbishop Justin Welby warns of xenophobia and self-pity after Brexit

The Archbishop of Canterbury has warned that Brexit risks becoming a catalyst of British introspection, xenophobia and self-pity.Justin Welby also sounds the alarm about the danger of having a rootless and self-protective society without generosity, arising from a lack of confidence.
Welby, who said ahead of the 2016 European Union referendum that he would vote remain, sets out a bleak assessment of the state of the nation in a book, Reimagining Britain, to be published this week.
